Tash’s African Tours will take you to the Golden Free State:

South Africa’s Golden province due to the colours of the mountain rocks.  Free State is a very wealthy gold production province with many gold mines in the central Free State. This area is also known for vast golden fields of maize and sunflowers.

The Vaal dam is the biggest dam in the country. The major river, Vaal River, flows through a green fertile valley. This gives tourists the opportunity for great water sports. The Orange River South Africa’s largest river rises from Maluti Mountains winding its way down to the Atlantic Ocean.

The northern Free State is renowned as the home of Vredefort Dome, world’s largest and biggest meteorite impact site. You have all these mountains with San rock art. Historical sites are all over this province from the battlefield route to the Clarins castle and steam trains.

A special place to visit is the Tiger Canyons where John Varty well known on Discovery channel will give a talk about Tigers. Karoo evening with drumming and campfires are a must.  With all these mountains, rivers, historical sites and inland lakes you will have enough to see and do.
